Moving to Results Authorized
Once lab work is finished, change the order’s status to “Results authorized” using the dropdown in the top-right corner of the order view. This action:
Marks the order as completed in the system
Moves it to the "Results Authorized" column on the Kanban board (or change the status)
Triggers a direct notification to the customer-owner
After this step, sample and plate data remain locked. You can still upload files, send messages, or move the status back to Processing if a correction is needed.
Uploading (result) Files
There are two ways to deliver results to the customer in Lab Portal: by uploading directly into the order, or by pushing results from Genotyper.
Uploading via the Files tab
Go to the Files tab inside any existing order.
You can create directories (folders) to structure data. Some directories will be automatically generated:
Kraken: this contains all XML exports made for Kraken
Samples: this contains all samples.csv exports and uploads
Results: this contains all result files generated and added by Genotyper
Uploaded files are immediately visible to the customer. They only receive a notification if the order is authorized.
Tip: You can upload files before authorizing results if needed. Only authorizing orders will trigger a notifications.
Once you've uploaded data, you'll see last modification data, the full file name and the file size:
Automatic result upload and status change with Genotyper
If your lab uses Genotyper, results can be sent to Lab Portal directly. In Genotyper, click authorize. You'll see the available orders in processing. Select the orders and optionally mark the results as authorized to move the status.
In Conversation, you'll see the result addition as well as the status changes reflected:
All export files will be automatically added and visible to both lab and customer users. This integration ensures consistent delivery and traceability without needing manual downloads or uploads.
Archived
Orders that are authorized for more than 10 days are automatically archived. You can find them by clicking on 'looking for older orders?' in the bottom right corner, which will switch to the list view filtered on Archived runs.
Cluster plot viewer
After the genotyping results are authorized and linked to the order and when enabled by the laboratory (via Customers>General>Enable cluster plots and in Genotyper: Integrations>Lab Portal cluster plot viewer), you can view the results as cluster plots directly in your order.
On the left side of the screen, you can select the genotyping experiment (in case multiple are available).
You can search on sample ID (contains) to highlight and filter particular samples in the plates/plot view.
In the middle pane, you can select the assay of interest and already see the distribution of the calls.
In the right pane, you can view your results in a plot view with a few interactive tooltips:
A legend for all colors in the graph is shown; this acts as a filter.
move graph area or click on a datapoint to show details
zoom to area or
to reset to the original zoom.
select datapoints by using the lasso tool or the intersection lasso tool
. The intersection lasso takes into account which datapoints are already selected on the plate view.
Show or hide grid lines (..or use shortkey 'g')
Toggle the graph axis between uniform and fitting around the data (..or use shortkey 'f')
